Fairy Tale Unit: The Three Little Pigs

  • Read many versions of the story, including versions from the fox’s point of view
  • Predictable little reader Three Little Pigs (one for each child)
  • Retelling using child made characters and settings
  • Cut and paste retelling activity
  • Create flow chart to sequence story using order words (first, second, third. . .) and child draw scenes
  • Brainstorm other things Pigs could use to build houses whole group; Have students individually create their own house using an alternative material, decide if materials are sturdy or fragile: The 3 Little Pigs built their house out of ______________.
  • Write our own version of the story
  • Create a problem solution chart listing each problem and each solution
